Skerries Road Races Preview

The 2015 Skerries Road Races looks set to mark Michael Dunlop’s return to pure road racing action following TT 2015.

Michael lap record holder around Skerries is set to compete on his own teams S1000RR BMW and CBR 600 Honda in open, supersport, grand final races.

All eyes will be on the 11 times TT winner as he bids for his first superbike victories during the 2015 road racing season.

Tyco BMW’s William Dunlop is looking forward to piloting BMW Motorrad machinery for the first time since TT 2015.

Irish road race superbike championship leader William is tipped by many by open and grand final wins at Skerries.

Whilst supersport race sees the 11th fastest rider in TT history competing on CD Racing’s YZF R6 Yamaha.

William has been in scintillating form so far this season in supersport 600 class, with wins at Cookstown 100, Tandragee 100, Kells Road Races.

BikeBitsNI Racing’s Derek Sheils has the pedigree to record big bike wins at Skerries on Saturday.

The 2013 Irish road race superbike champion showcased his pure road racing ability at the Cookstown 100.

He achieved third and second place finishes in open and grand final races as he matched the pace of international road racing stars Guy Martin and Michael Dunlop.

Following superb grand final victory at Kells Road Races Alan Bonner goes into Skerries full of confidence.

The people’s bike team rider is enjoying a golden run of form, it wouldn’t be a surprise to anyone if he records feature race victory at Skerries.

Michael Sweeney is aiming to return to action for the first time since incident in second supersport race at TT 2015.

Two time junior Manx Grand Prix winner Michael is set to pilot Martin Jones Racing backed R6 and ZX10R Kawasaki machinery.

Reigning Irish road race supersport champion Derek Mcgee is one of firm favourites for open, supersport, grand final victories.

TT 2015 fastest newcomer has his own teams ZX10R Kawasaki, R6 Yamaha for action at Skerries.

Plus super twins race sees him competing on Shane Wogan backed ER6 Kawasaki.

Following third place finish in grand final at Kells Brian Mccormack is hugely looking forward to this weekend’s racing.

Big mac is all set for competition on his own teams CBR 1000 Honda Fireblade, he has the proven pace to push for podium finishes.

As does Seamus Elliott who is amongst the most improved pure road racer’s over the last five years.

Added quality to the entry list is added by Andy Farrell, Neil Kernohan, rising road racing star Paul Jordan, John Walsh.

Ten entertaining races are in prospect at the 2015 Skerries Road Races.
