A fair way behind schedule, the highlights package of the Road to 2024 TT Races launch event, aired last evening on the TT’s online, digital channel, TT+.
So, what did I gain, take from the event’s festivities.
• Same old questions asked.
• As always, various non-committal answers from riders.
• The atmosphere felt Autosport awards, Brits awards like.
• Michael Dunlop is still to source a suitable Superbike for TT 2024 but did hint about switching to 765 Triumph machinery for the Supersport class.
• Peter Hickman’s Yamaha Super Twins mount will feature a new title sponsor.
• Dean Harrison is now a Manx resident in Laxey.
• Was good to see, next generation IOM roads talents mentioned, Michael Evans, Paul Cassidy, Joe Yeardsley, Jake Roberts (Dave Molyneux’s new sidekick) albeit only briefly.
• The Crowe brothers Ryan & Callum’s outfit, engines are being prepped by a new engine tuner.
• Of all the competitors interviewed, in my opinion Davey Todd sounded the most confident about 2024 Mountain Course racing endeavours.
So that’s the TT launch night, just over six weeks till the world’s most acclaimed, famous, historical motorcycle race returns, not long now.
