Impeccable was one word to describe Burrows Engineering/Richardson Kelly Racing’s Cemcor Cookstown 100 tenure, following new lead roads rider Dominic Herbertson’s quadruple of race wins.
Pole-sitter for the 1000cc races, the 2018 Junior Classic TT winner went onto finish runner-up in the opening invitational Superbike, Supersport races to the Michael’s Dunlop and Sweeney.
Last Saturday’s competition saw Dom ‘The Bomb’ dominate the 125/Moto 3, Open (A) races, emerge P1 from gripping duels with the above-showcased Michael Sweeney for Supersport (A), Grand-Final captures.
Reflecting on his best Irish roads meeting to date, Chasin the Racin host, ‘130 Mph Club’ TT member Herbertson stated:
“A great way to start off the roads season with Burrows Engineering / RK Racing. I must admit to being nervous about this weekend, it’s the first time I’ve rode for a big team and that brings pressure, the team never put any pressure on me, but I did put quite a bit on myself.
Winning these races has lifted a huge weight off my shoulders. Everyone in the team has been brilliant and I can’t wait to get to the Northwest 200 next week now.”
BE/RK Racing Team Manager John Burrows, added:
“It was good to get back to our local road race, as a team we only live a few miles up the road. Having Dom on our bikes for 2024, it was hard to know how he would fare when we got on the roads, thankfully the bikes where faultless and Dom pulled of six great results over the two days.
It’s great for the team to start our roads campaign with these results as the NW 200 and IOM TT is just around the corner. I’d like to thank our team and sponsors for all their support.”
