Irish road race supersport champion William Dunlop, is set to return to Oliver’s Mount, for the 66th Scarborough Gold Cup meeting.
The reigning Duke Road Race Rankings champion, is all set to pilot Justin Waring’s RS 125 and RS 250 Honda’s, as he aims for more success around the mount.
Last year’s Gold Cup saw William secure series of highly creditable results, when piloting the CD Racing YZF R6 Yamaha.
A race winner on two stroke machinery at Scarborough, he has the undoubted talent and pace to secure victories at the Gold Cup.
His entry into the popular meeting, adds a further touch of star quality to an event, which is set to be amongst the main highlights of the 2016 pure road racing season.
Established amongst the world’s leading roads competitors, he’s tipped by many to in the future secure a long awaited maiden success at the Isle of Man TT.
To date his 2016 roads campaign, has been in fairness an up and down one.
Standout moments of the year thus far, have included finishing runner up in a gripping second supersport race at the MCE Insurance Ulster Grand Prix, plus supersport wins at the Cookstown 100, Tandragee 100 and Armoy.
