Six times international road race winner Lee Johnston, is aiming for frequent appearances on the podium, during TT 2016.
Having battled back to full fitness following an incident at the Spring Cup National Road Races at Oliver’s Mount, Lee is confident that he can continue his growing momentum around the Mountain Course, on the proven East Coast Racing 675 Daytona Triumph and S1000RR BMW’s.
First practice of TT 2016 saw Lee encounter technical issues on the East Coast Racing 675 Daytona Triumph, last nights practice would see a change in fortunes, as he finished second on the supersport 600 leader board, lapping at 122.241 mph.
Superbike practice would prove a solid and consistent one for Lee, finishing fourteenth quickest, lapping close to the 123 mph mark, there’s more to come though from the rider who made his TT debut back in 2012.
Tipped by many to be in with a great chance of becoming a TT winner over the next couple of weeks, he’s at home with the East Coast Racing team, who like Lee have rapidly risen through the ranks on the roads, in the last three to four years.
Looking to the rest of the 2016 roads season, despite what happened at Oliver’s Mount in April, it’s not put off the hugely popular rider who’s planning to return to the mount, later in the year.
Already an Ulster Grand Prix, North West 200, Classic TT, Frohburg and Oliver’s Mount race winner, Lee Johnston’s record already between the hedges, is a stellar one.
An Isle of Man TT victory, would further consolidate his present place amongst pure road racing’s modern day heroes, will it happen at race week at TT 2016?
Don’t discount him from adding a victory at the most famous road race in the world, to his roads pedigree.
