Repli-Cast UK Racing are all set to run Joe Thompson, at the 2016 Scarborough Gold Cup, a meeting which marks 70 years of action around Oliver’s Mount.
Having won both modern lightweight races from back the of the grid, at the Barry Sheene Festival Powered by Suzuki, 18 year old Joe Thompson has to be regarded around the fastest rising stars at Oliver’s Mount.
A top three finisher at Scarborough on Moto 3 machinery, his mount for the prestigious Gold Cup meeting, is a HRC (Honda Racing Corporation) prepared Moto 3 Honda.
Commenting on his confirmed Gold Cup participation with the Repli-Cast UK Racing team, Joe said:
“It is great to ride for Team Repli-Cast UK at my local road race for the Gold Cup. I am really looking forward to getting out on their top spec Honda Moto 3.
We won the Moto 3/125 GP class riding for Repli Cast two years ago so hopefully we will carry on progressing together! It isn’t going to be easy jumping from the big supersport 600 bike back down but I’m sure we can do a great job.
Huge thanks to Gary and Team Repli-Cast UK for this great opportunity and let’s hope for an amazing weekend racing! See you all there.”
Gary Dawson, Team Manager/Owner of the Repli-Cast UK Racing outfit, added:
“It’s Great to be returning to my roots and makes it even better to be returning with Joe on board too. He is a fantastic rider to work with, who listens and learns fast and I’m hoping we are going on from this into 2017 where we would both like to have a crack at the lightweight TT at the Isle of Man.
Can’t wait to see all the old faces up at the mount now and look forward to it so much. See you all there !!!”
