By The 2018 Irish road race championships are set to take place over nine rounds, as the newly re incarnated Enniskillen meeting and Kells return to the roads calendar.
This is extremely positive news, the increase to nine rounds from this years amount of seven, this hopefully marks the start of an up turn in fortunes for the national roads scene in the Emerald Isle, which in recent years has gone through difficult times.
Next season gets underway on the 27th-28th of April at Cookstown, followed the week after by the 58th Tandragee 100.
After a break for the internationals, attention then turns to Kells on the 23rd-24th June, then a week later it’s the turn of roads action returning to Enniskillen for the first time in 65 years.

A busy July which begins at Skerries and features the popular Walderstown and Faugheen 50 meets, concludes at for many the number 1 national roads event, Armoy which potentially could be the scene of Michael Dunlop making it eight successive feature Race of Legends victories.
Following the four successive weeks of competition in July, the season concludes at the Killalane based East Coast Racing Festival, on the 8th-9th of September.
