Martimotos backed Raul Torras Martinez will add additional depth to Yamaha’s growing presence at TT 2018, piloting YZF R1M and YZF R6 machinery in the RST Superbike, Royal London 360 Quantum Superstock, Monster Energy Supersport and Pokerstars Senior races.
A Mountain Course debutant in 2016 at the Manx Grand Prix, he made the decision to move straight up to the TT Races, it was a move that paid dividends at TT 2017.
After a protracted practice week due to inclement weather, race week began with a very creditable 30th place finish in the RST Superbike race, finishing in front of many accomplished/rising roads stars including former European Superstock champion, Alex Polita.
Remaining 1000cc action of TT 2017 yielded a further two bronze replica finishes, via 33rd and 29th place finishes in the Superstock and blue riband Senior races.

In amongst the consistent array of solid results, Raul established himself as one of a very select group of competitors from Spain to have lapped the Mountain Course at over 121 mph, ending his first TT fortnight with a quickest lap speed of 122.534 mph.
Looking forward to competing for the second time at the TT Races next year, expect him to once again be one of the leading Yamaha mounted competitors plus don’t be surprised to see him contending for at minimum top 20 finishes.
Alongside TT 2018, Raul is also planning to next year return to the North West 200, plus sample the Superbike race at the Classic TT aboard a 29 year old Suzuki.
Additionally he’s also targeting a maiden voyage into competition at Dundrod, home of the world’s fastest road race, the MCE Insurance Ulster Grand Prix, this is all dependent though on having the budget available plus being successful with his entry.
