Roads Livery Of The Year: Bennetts Suzuki

Road Racing News roads livery of the year, goes to the Hawk Racing run Bennetts Suzuki Superbike.

A livery that feels factory with the distinctive splash of blue combined with a few deft touches of turquoise yellow and a few different compositions of red, looks and feels similar to Moto America’s Yoshimura Suzuki outfits colour scheme.

It’s also a livery which will be remembered for years and years to come, primarily cause of Michael Dunlop’s momentous Pokerstars Senior TT victory.

The Ballymoney racers 15th TT success, marked Suzuki’s first TT triumph in nine years, it was also a real galvanising moment for the marques newest incarnation of their fabled GSX-R 1000.

Alongside TT 2017, 27 times international road race winner Dunlop also enjoyed success with Bennetts Suzuki at the Southern 100 recording a hat trick of victories, plus setting a blistering new outright lap record of 115.707 mph.

He also went onto dominate at Armoy, securing in dominant fashion a seventh successive feature Race of Legends title.

After it’s successful international/national roads stint, the now iconic Superbike has been on display at various shows including Motorcycle Live.

Given a prime location on the Suzuki stand at the NEC, it showcased in full the need to have a distinctive eye catching livery, in particular when it’s located on an official or factory backed machine.

Bennetts Suzuki’s colours mash up does this and some; looking towards 2018 it’s not clear yet as to whether Hawk Racing who will continue to run Suzuki’s official BSB effort next year under the new team name of Buildbase Suzuki, will be participating again at the international road races.
