TT 2016 – Wednesday Practice Wrap Up

Superstock:

Ian Hutchinson set a blistering pace, to finish fastest on the super stockers. Lapping at 130.745 mph on the stock Tyco BMW, Ian has showcased again tonight, why he is considered by many, the favourite for Royal London 360 Quantum superstock victory.

Off the back of his dazzling performance on the Hawk Racing S1000RR BMW, Michael Dunlop lapped at 128.850 mph, to finish third quickest on his own teams BMW, just behind fellow BMW Motorrad mounted rider Michael Rutter, 129.204 mph.

Dean Harrison lead the Kawasaki challenge lapping at 128.787 mph on the Silicone Engineering Racing ZX10R Kawasaki, Peter Hickman was next up with lap speed of 127.738 mph, James Hillier and Penz 13.com BMW’s Gary Johnson also lapped in excess of 127 mph.

Places eighth and ninth in practice where consolidated by Honda runners Conor Cummins and Steve Mercer, they where followed by Ivan Lintin, 23 times TT winner John McGuinness and RTR Motorcycles Racing’s Dan Hegarty.

Shirlaws Motorcycles backed Derek Sheils 124.176 mph, Horst Saiger 122.857 mph, Phil Crowe 121.319 and newcomers Forest Dunn and Seamus Elliott all impressed.

Supersport:

It was East Coast Racing’s Lee Johnston, who finished top of the supersport time sheets, lapping close to the 124 mph mark, with lap speed of 123.397 mph.

Reigning Czech super twins roads champion Michal Dokoupil was firmly on the pace, finishing second quickest, on the Motopoint backed YZF R6 Yamaha.

Gary Johnson, Team T3 Racing 675 Daytona Triumph was next up at 121.360 mph, followed by Jamie Coward 120.738 mph, Ivan Lintin 120.629 mph, Colin Stephenson 120.620 mph.

Dan Hegarty was the only other rider to lap in excess of 120 mph whilst Robert Wilson, Martin Jessopp and Bjorn Gunnarsson all showed good form, in taking top ten placing’s on the practice leader board.
