Road Racing’s Great Races – 2013 Ulster Grand Prix Supersport Race 2

The second supersport race at the 2013 Ulster Grand Prix proved to be one of the most exciting races at the Ulster Grand Prix so far during the 2010’s.

With two laps to go of the race William Dunlop and Bruce Anstey had pulled away from Conor Cummins in third position, the stage was set for a battle royal for victory between the two hugely popular riders.

William Dunlop was in determined mood on Milwaukee R6 Yamaha but Bruce Anstey on HM Plant Padgetts motorcycles CBR 600 Honda was pushing him all the way, in a grandstand finish William Dunlop edged out Bruce for victory by 0.073 of a second!

Conor Cummins finished in third position although over ten seconds behind the leading duo, Michael Dunlop was fourth whilst Dean Harrison secured excellent fifth place finish on Ian Bell motorcycles R6 Yamaha.

Cameron Donald on Wilson Craig racing’s CBR 600 Honda completed the top six as Ivan Lintin secured highly creditable seventh place finish.

Ian Lougher was eighth on WA Corless joinery/Jackson racing CBR 600 Honda, Dan Cooper secured ninth positon and was leading Triumph mounted rider in the race. Ben Wylie finalised the top ten as 2012 TT privateers championship winner Dan Stewart recorded highly respectable 11th place finish.

William Dunlop’s 2013 Ulster Grand Prix supersport race 2 victory is regarded by many as one of the talented rider’s best international road race victories to date.
