One of the most colourful riders in the road race paddocks is Lisburn’s Davy Graham.
Conspicuously missing for part of the 2017 season, the 33 year old van driver for Jim Finlay former sponsor of the late Tom Herron and Jackie Hughes, and also main sponsor of the Sunflower races, is back and looking forward to a full season of road racing, juggling fatherhood and preparing for the KDM Hire Cookstown 100.
He stated:
“For 2018 I will be riding in the Junior Support and Supersport 400 classes, on board my Patch Racing Kawasaki 400 built by former road racer Darren Gilpin (Vehicle Solutions, Ballyclare).
We are a small team of myself, my uncle Andrew and a friend Mark who helps us out. Hopefully by the time the season kicks off though, we will have added to the team with another rider! This will be what I think is my third year racing at Cookstown 100.
My results have not been up to my liking around this tight wee course, but we will keep chipping away and improving each year! I had some interesting wee on track battles with ‘Cargo’ last year and i hope to resume that and maybe beat him this year!”

He went onto add:
“As with most other riders in the paddock, I could not be doing this with the help of some loyal sponsors and some new lads on board!
So a huge Thank You must go to JD Autos NI, Colin Brown Contractors, Impact Conveyor Parts, Milne Funeral Services, Pappa’s Pizzas and Finlay Foods Ltd. We are running a supporters club again this year called Club #30 with some fantastic monthly prizes, so if interested in joining just look us up on facebook or Twitter.
The season ahead will be costly as we plan to take in Cookstown 100, Tandragee 100 (where I got best local newcomer a few seasons ago), Armoy, Kells, Enniskillen and the Ulster Grand Prix plus a couple of short circuit events including the Sunflower Races which I love!
See you in the paddock!”
