Improving international roads exponent Barry Furber got his race season last weekend off to an impressive start, as last years lead North West 200 newcomer, starred at the opening Wirral 100 Anglesey meeting of 2018.
Seventh in the opening Powerbikes encounter, Bishops Castle’s Furber went onto dominate the Super Twin encounters, showing formidable form on his way to a brace of class victories.
In amongst the race wins, he also finished a fine third overall, in the first of the Super Twin/SSR Suspension Golden Era Supersport races.
Next event on the horizon for the former Newcomers B Manx GP runner up, is the two day Spada Spring Day at Oliver’s Mount.
Proven around the tight, twisty Scarborough based roads, as at Anglesey expect him to be in contention for first rate results in the Super Twin races, as he competes against the likes of twice Lightweight TT champion Ivan Lintin and 2014 Duke Road Race Rankings champion, James Cowton.

He’s not to be underestimated as well in the 1000cc races, aboard his own teams Superstock Kawasaki, which he took to a very respectable 26th place finish in last years Pokerstars Senior TT.
Speaking of the TT, the Spring Cup will as for many act as another important opportunity, to gain track time a plenty and to iron out any slight issues/teething problems of TT 2018, which is set to be the talented Furber’s third TT Races venture.
