Having stunned many on Saturday evening with a lap speed of 119.759 mph, Michael Evans kept up his great form around the Mountain Course, to secure victory in the 2016 Newcomers A Manx Grand Prix.
Piloting his own teams GSX-R 600 Suzuki, he moved into race lead on lap 1 at Cronk Ny Mona and from here moved away from the chasing pack, along the way lapping in excess of 117 mph.

His winning margin at the end of the four lap race stood at 24.925 seconds over Austria’s Julian Trummer, who produced a quite brilliant performance on the DP Coldplaning/TC Racing CBR 600 Honda.
Down in fifth place at the end of the opening lap, Julian battled his way through to second, as in the end he held off the challenge of Wayne Humble to finish runner up by just 0.464 of a second.
Third place finisher Wayne Humble, was overall extremely happy to finish on the podium, following a highly accomplished display on his own teams Michelin backed YZF R6 Yamaha.
Brendan Fargher in fourth place piloting the Paul Smyth Racing YZF R6 Yamaha, was in contention throughout for a spot on the podium, still fourth was a good result for the Manxman.
Jamie Williams finished a more than creditable fifth, whilst Spain’s Raul Torras Martinez completed the first six finishers.
Mark Foster was 7th, Paul Williams was 8th whilst Callum Ward secured a highly respectable ninth place finish.
In all the 2016 Newcomers A Manx GP, will be remembered well in my opinion for the international theme of it.
Riders from the Isle of Man, Austria, England, Spain and Wales where all amongst the top ten finishers.
Race winner Michael Evans, showed that he’s a natural around the Mountain Course.
Don’t at all be surprised to see him in contention for another result of the highest quality, in the blue riband Senior Manx Grand Prix, scheduled for Friday.
