Senior:

It’s fair to say Manx GP newcomer Michael Evans stunned everyone last evening by going to top of the time sheets in the Senior class, lapping at an eye catching 119.758 mph, on his own teams Suzuki which is ten years old!.

This lap speed which is unofficially a Newcomers A Manx GP lap record, will have stunned many, and I will admit me as well, fair to say prior to yesterday, there was no inclination of a lap speed as quick as this from the rider who has gelled exceptionally quickly with the Mountain Course.

Andy Dudgeon (118.996 mph), Richard Charlton (118.774 mph), Joe Akroyd (118.673 mph), Davey Lambert (118.39 mph), and Andy Farrell (117.887 mph) are all contenders for Senior Manx GP success.

Reigning Newcomers A Manx GP winner Peter Wilkinson (115.877 mph) impressed on the Rusty Rack Racing YZF R6 Yamaha, as did Steven Procter (113.924 mph), Michael Hand (113.657 mph) and Jason Corcoran (113.364 mph).

Allan Brodie lead the 750 challenge on the PRF Racing GSX-R 750 Suzuki, securing lap speed of 116.299 mph.

Super Twins:

Andy Dudgeon underlined his status as one of the pre race favourites for Super Twins Manx GP honours, with an impressive lap speed of 112.856 mph, set yesterday in pretty much perfect conditions on the Mountain Course.

Spain’s Victor Lopez Santos competing under the Team Martimotos banner (111.684 mph) stepped up his pace to finish second fastest, whilst Jamie Hodson (111.517 mph), Andy Farrell (111.245 mph) and Dean Osborne (110.696 mph) all showed accomplished form.

Jonathan Perry (110.516 mph) was without a doubt one of the stand out competitors from practice, unofficially under the Newcomers B lap record, on his own teams ER6 Kawasaki.

Fellow newcomers Shirlaws Motorcycles backed Marc Ironside (110.076 mph) and Paul Van Der Heiden (109.926 mph) all impressed hugely, as did DP Coldplaning/TC Racing’s Rob Temple (110.19 mph) and Australia’s Royce Rowe (109.775 mph).

Lightweight:

Nine times Sidecar TT winner Dan Sayle (107.576 mph) continues to set the Lightweight Manx GP pace, on the Falcon Racing Moto 3 Honda.

The gap though to his nearest challengers reduced immensely on Saturday, as Rikki McGovern (106.337 mph) piloting the David Simon Tuning backed RVF 400 Kawasaki, was just under 15 seconds off his illustrious counterparts lap speed.

James Caswell (103.819 mph), Lancelot Unissart (103.715 mph), Robert Smith (101.718 mph), Mike Carter (101.6 mph) and newcomer Dan Ingham (101.532 mph) all enjoyed a productive evening’s practice on the Mountain Course.

Same applied to Gavin Brown (101.32 mph) and the reigning Newcomers C Manx GP winner Elwyn Fryer who lapped at 101.195 mph.
