Landshaag Hill Climb 2026: Stats/Facts

Eight nations were-represented across Landshaag time-trials action, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, and Switzerland.

Manx Grand Prix/TT racers from last weekend were prospective MGP debutants Thomas ‘Uccio’ Altendorfer, Moritz Klaus, MGP participant in recent years Salvatore ‘Salvo’ Sallustro and TT exponent, Landshaag best time record holder in history, David ‘Datziii’ Datzer.

All four of them are also IRRC races experienced, the same as other active racers last week including overall race winner Thomas Altenhuber, Daniel Wiesinger, Markus Mitterbauer, Dominik Haslinger, Leos ‘Magda’ Hlavacek (Landshaag 2026 newcomer).

Eleven racers in total clocked sub 1:15 lap times, post Sunday’s races. Above mentioned Salvatore Sallustro (1.12.203) and Thomas Altendorfer (1.13.423) plus Thomas Altenhuber (1.11.339), Markus Mitterbauer (1.11.704), Gabriele Peticca (1.12.823), Manuel Schleindlhuber (1.13.430) and his brother Harald Schleindlhuber (1.13.602).

Alexander Kastenhuber (1.13.723, fastest Supersport exponent), Mario Grunwald (1.14.107), Emanuel Reisinger (1.14.419) and Mario Gastinger (1.14.913).

Thirteen racers in Landshaag racing history, have recorded personal best lap times below 1 minute 12 seconds, the already projected David Datzer, Thomas Altenhuber, Markus Mitterbauer and Manuel Schleindlhuber (all four riders did not improve their personal best laps last week). Maurizio Bottalico, Andreas Gangl, much-missed four times overall Landshaag victor Wolfgang Gammer, Thomas Berghammer, Christian Zaiser, Stefano Bonetti, Christian Wiesinger-Mayr, Jean-Luc-David plus Thomas Ecker.

Former Landshaag record time holder, previously illustrated Andreas ‘Gangolf’ Gangl was in the role of spectator on Sunday, same applied to last year’s swiftest female exponent on forearm crutches due to injuries, Svenja ‘Svenschi’ Wurm.

Six Sidecar crews competed during the past weekend. The fastest were IDM/International Sidecar Trophy experienced Franz Kapeller/Markus Billich (1.48.448).

The Seven female riders of Landshaag 2026 were Kristyna ‘Kiki’ Jakesch (1.27.340), Nicole Furruther (1.28.548), Magdalena Gamperl (1.30.811), Julie ‘Juju’ Orlando (1.35.208), Manuela Voglreiter (1.38.852), Karina Taibl (1.48.393) and Petra Fischer (1.51.110).

The most heard song from the Tannoy speakers aside the Austrian national anthem was new wave 80’s song ‘Major Tom’ by German songwriter Peter Schilling.

It is nearing fifty years since the Landshaag Hill Climb race edition (first held in 1979).
