Joey Yorkshire Set For 1000cc Machinery Challenge At TT 2020

One of the youngest competitors at TT 2020 is set to be York’s Joe Thompson, who has recently unveiled plans to tackle the 1000cc races on GSX-R 1000 Suzuki machinery.

Thompson who is also planning to sample the BSB affiliated National Superstock 1000 Championship, upcoming third TT tenure sees him enjoy support from the renowned Thompsons fish and chip restaurant and Rutland Plastering.

12 times a race winner at Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough, ‘Joey Yorkshire’s TT record to date includes an excellent top five finish within the Lightweight class encounter of 2018, finishing in front of esteemed names such as Ian Lougher, Michael Sweeney and Adam McLean.

Additionally showing an accomplished turn on Supersport steeds, he’s also impressed at the Classic TT Races, scoring two top 12 finishes, the most recent which arose last year placing twelfth in the drama filled RST Superbike race stint.

Although a newcomer to 1000cc competition around the illustrious, unparalleled Mountain Course, Thompson has shown over recent years his talent, turn of speed, capable race craft and there’s no doubt he has the core credentials to enjoy a productive TT 2020 campaign.
