Current Senior TT Champion’s Dean Harrison & Silicone Engineering Racing, will make the move from running Metzeler tyres to Dunlop tyres for future national, International roads events.
Since joining forces with Silicone Engineering in 2016, Bradford’s Harrison has rapidly developed into one of true pure road racing giants of the modern era.
Having enjoyed immense success with Metzeler rubber, the switch to Dunlop’s for 2021 and beyond is perhaps a touch surprising.
At the same time, Dunlop have an exceptional pedigree on the roads in particular at the TT Races where they have enjoyed since 2010, no less than 18 Superbike, Senior race wins combined.

Hugely looking forward to working with the company that was first formed in 1889, 16 times TT podium finisher Harrison echoed the following words via the Silicone Engineering Racing website.
“I’ve ridden on Dunlop tyres in the past. I was on Dunlop when I did my first ever TT and I’ve always thought they were brilliant tyres so I’m really pleased to be making the move back.
I’ve always liked the brand and the people there are really nice too. After a few years on a different tyre, I think a change is good, especially to be moving to a manufacturer with such a strong sporting history behind it.
I just can’t wait to get back out. It’s been way too long and I’m really excited about riding a motorbike again and ultimately, getting back onto the roads with the best tyres underneath me.”
Today’s news also indicates a new contract agreement between Harrison and Silicone Engineering Racing, who in 2020 had agreed a contract extension to run towards the conclusion of the 2021 racing campaign.
