Isle of Man TT 2013 – Superstock TT preview – Part 2
The WA Corless joinery/Jackson racing team has in recent years become one of the top independent teams at the TT and for 2013 the teams results at the TT look like getting better with Ian Lougher on-board the teams superstock Honda machine.
Ian Lougher is one of the worlds best road racers and joining the WA Corless joinery/Jackson racing team will give Ian a chance of getting back on the podium in this years superstock TT race.
Reigning Macau grand prix winner Michael Rutter will be looking for another top TT performance this year in the superstock TT race. Michael is set to compete a Bathams sponsored Honda Fireblade superstock bike which is saw to give Michael a great chance of finishing on the podium at this years Isle of Man TT.
Top privateers Davy Morgan, Ben Wylie, Russ Mountford and Rob Barber are all capable of achieving top 10 finishes in the superstock TT race with top 6 finishes a great possibility.
Having achieved a podium finish at the recent North West 200 Gary Johnson is heading into this years superstock race at the TT in high confidence. Gary is for the superstock TT race competing on a Kawasaki ZX10 bike sponsored by Lincs lifting ltd.
A great number of competitors in this years superstock TT race are competing on BMW machinery which includes riders like Steve Mercer, Ben Wylie, Herve Ganther and Stephen Thompson. The BMW superstock bike has proven its pace on short circuits and its very quickly getting up to pace at the TT despite the BMW’s only competing at the TT since 2010.
CD racing are running this year at the TT rising road racing star, Derek Shiels. Derek has already this season achieved top results at the Cookstown 100, Tandragee 100 and at the North West 200. Derek will be hoping to continue the trend of top results in the superstock TT race when competing on a ZX10 Kawasaki.
Aprilla’s entry into the superstock TT is lead by the Splitlath Redmond motorsport team. Riding for the team is American Mark Miller and TT newcomer from China, Cheung-Wai-on. TT regular David Hewson is this year at the TT competing on an Aprilla RSV4 superstock bike which he is calling “project awesome”.
TT competitor for many years George Spence is also Aprilla mounted for this years superstock TT. Ducati’s entry is lead by the Rapido sport racing team who are running podium finisher at the North West 200 and Ulster grand prix, Lee Johnston.
Amongst the TT newcomers this year in the superstock TT race include Horst Saiger, Branko Srdanov, Steven Michels and national superstock championship star Jonathan Howarth, Jonathan is competing on a Sheff Pack ltd ZX10 Kawasaki.
TT newcomers from 2012 Jimmy Storrar, Michael Niblett, John Ingram and Jamie Hamilton are all back for this years TT and all are entered in the superstock race. Team mate to Jamie Hamilton in the KMR Kawasaki powered by Vauxhall team is Brian Mccormack, both Jamie and Brian will be competing on high specifications ZX10 Kawasaki’s.
The main theme for this years TT with the entry list is the strength in depth for each race and in particular this is seen in the superstock TT race.
