One of the feel good moments of the 2016 pure road racing season, will be seeing Gareth Keys back in action.
Having fully recovered from serious injuries sustained at the spring cup at Oliver’s Mount in 2015, Gareth is hugely looking forward to returning to the roads.
Despite what happened at Oliver’s Mount in 2015, it has not put him off from returning to the iconic road race circuit in Scarborough.
He’s planning to compete at the prestigious Scarborough Gold Cup, where in 2014 he sealed eleventh and eighth place finishes in the junior A David Jefferies Cup supersport races.
Alongside action around the mount, 2016 also sees Gareth aiming to return to the Cookstown 100, North West 200, Kells and the world’s fastest road race the Ulster Grand Prix.
His 2016 roads campaign, begins at the Tandragee 100 on the 22nd to the 23rd of April.
Piloting a new ZX10R Kawasaki for his own team, Keys Racing, Gareth’s aims for the season are:
“We are just out to enjoy ourselves this year and if we get good results then that’s a bonus.”
The winner of the 250 race at the 2013 Ulster Grand Prix, has shown true determination in fighting back to fitness.
Despite been out of roads action for a year, Gareth has the proven pace, talent and ability to record series of top quality results between the hedges in 2016.
