Faugheen 50 Road Races organisers, confirmed yesterday that the popular meeting, will be gracing the 2017 Irish roads schedule.
Set to take place on the 22nd to the 23rd of July, their was question marks in the last couple of weeks, as to whether the meeting would come to fruition this year, due to a rise in insurance costs.
Fortunately Motorcycling Ireland, have secured insurance for the event, which is set to attract a high quality entry list.

Commenting via their Facebook page, the Faugheen 50 Road Races Club, confirmed that the event located in the south east of the Republic of Ireland, would be back on the roads calendar, this year.
They stated:
“Ok everyone, we can confirm the Faugheen 50 road races are Go in 2017!!
Motorcycling-Ireland have worked extremely hard to get event insurance but it’s at a massively increased rate. It’s going to be tough to manage the finances and keep the road racing alive but we’re going to do our best as always.
If we want to keep seeing the greatest show on the roads we’ll all have to dig a little deeper in our pockets, and make sure you get out there and support the sport!”
Anticipated entrants for this years Faugheen 50 Road Races include reigning Irish road race Superbike champion Derek Sheils, Derek McGee, Brian McCormack, two times Junior Manx GP winner Michael Sweeney, Andy Farrell and Sean Connolly.
