By Maria Costello MBE is looking forward to taking on the TT Riders Association President role, having recently been confirmed to take on the prestigious title, previously acquired by Mountain Course legends such as John Surtees and 26 times TT winner Joey Dunlop.
Set to be the first female racer to take on the role of TT RA President, it’s the latest in a long line of significant achievements for the hugely respected Costello MBE.
Third within the 2016 Senior Classic TT, her Mountain Course CV also includes two Manx GP podium finishes, plus a very creditable 12th place finish in the Bennetts Lightweight race of TT 2016.

Speaking recently about becoming for the first time, TT Riders Association President, she candidly stated:
“I’m honoured to become the first female to become the president of the TT RA. They are a fantastic charity and one that needs to be better recognised for all they do for TT riders and their families.
As president, one of my goals will be to help raise their profile and therefore help even more people.
I’m sure that their Friends of the TT RA could easily grow stronger – the TT event itself has such a huge and passionate following that I’m sure more fans would want to be involved in what the TT RA do.”
Adding as well her thoughts about her upcoming inauguration as TT RA President, which takes place on the 7th of November at the TT Riders Association’s yearly luncheon event, hosted this year by the National Motorcycle Museum, she stated:
“It would be great to see as many people as possible at the luncheon. I’m incredible excited to be the first woman to have this role, and cannot wait to get started.”
