Cookstown 100 Preview Part 2 – Twins, Lightweight, Support Races
Super Twins:

One of the toughest races to call this week at Cookstown, is the Super Twins encounter.

2022 Irish Road Racing Superbike Champion Michael Sweeney, Darryl Tweed (FAO Racing) are amongst the top candidates for class spoils.

Same notion applies to Cork’s Michael Browne, entered on RS660 Aprilia tackle.

Added ones to watch include:

Aaron Spence, Kevin Baker, Michael Gahan, Cowton Racing’s Gareth Arnold, Paton powered Andy Hornby.

Kelly Carruthers, Kramer mounted Dave Walsh, Graham McAleese, Ashley Robson, TT 2024 bound Martin Morris, Baja International Tourist Cup front-runner Dave Thomas (McCrums Motorcycles) and Orritor Circuit first-timer, Dean McMaster (JMcC Roofing Racing).

Overall class entry numbers stand at close to 35, with a potent blend of established talents, seasoned Cookstown exponents, enthusiastic newcomers set for Twins competition.

Lightweight:

Lightweight class wise, standout entrants include Manx GP winner Darryl Tweed (M&D Racing Kawasaki).

As shown at Dundrod, the Mountain Course, majority of national road races, Tweed is an ace on 400cc machinery and will be a prime contender again for outright Lightweight race honours.

Popular German visitor Chris Meyer, Darragh Crean, Gareth Arnold, the legend that is Barry Davidson are additional contenders for first-rate results.

Further depth to the Lightweight 250/400 field is provided by racers such as Richard Ford, Graham McAleese, Ben Mullane, and newcomer Andrew Murphy.

Senior Support:

Just past twenty racers are due to take in Senior Support Cookstown competition.

Ones to watch include Dean Lacey, Gary Jordan brother of Jackson Racing’s Paul Jordan, Trison McMullan Racing’s Lee Osprey.

Ashley Robson, John O’Donovan, Jason Whelan, Yannick Urban, John Cahill and roads scene debutant, Lee Hara.

Junior Support:

400’s, Supermono, two-stroke, 660cc, 650cc Twins machinery all feature within the Junior Support category.

Although it’s tough to predict who will emerge victorious, competitors to keep an eye on include the previously aforementioned Kevin Baker, Kelly Carruthers, Chris Meyer, Ben Mullane (Puzzles Racing).

James Rothery, John O’Donovan, Mick Hogan, Darragh Crean, Stuart McCann.

America’s Dave Thomas, newcomers RJ Waddell, Brian Fuidge and Ross Eastall.
