Portugal’s most recent TT Races competitor Andre Pires, enjoyed a productive start to his maiden FIM Enel MotoE World Cup tenure at Jerez, securing a points finish.
28 seconds behind race winner Alessandro Zaccone, Avintia Esponsorama Racing Team’s Pires come the completion of today’s eight lap race, finished 12th ahead of former CEV Moto 2 European Champion Eric Granado.

Reflecting via Facebook about his first experience of electric Grand Prix action, Pires who placed 52nd in the Superstock TT of 2016 plus has tackled over recent times many a Macau Grand Prix, stated:
“Thank you very much for all the support to get here. Finishing my first MotoE race is fantastic and I managed to get the first points of the season. Next race is at Le Mans in two weeks.”
