TT 2019: Rutter Concludes Latest TT Venture With Solid Top 7 Placing

Concluding his 19th TT venture with a top seven finish in the Dunlop Senior race, Michael Rutter and the Bathams Racing squadron left Manx shores in a buoyant frame of mind, happy with the progress they’ve made with the exotic Bathams/Aspire Ho supported RC213V-S Honda mount.

Retaining in style the SES TT Zero crown, setting a new class lap record of 121.909 mph, Friday’s six lap Senior race saw the evergreen Rutter produce another accomplished performance around the fabled, mythical Mountain Course.

Ultimately a very respectable seventh, he was full of praise for the Moto GP derived RC213V-S Honda, when commenting via a recently issued Bathams Racing press release, about his time aboard the popular, great sounding steed:

“The RCV is a joy to ride round here (TT course), and it’s great to see the fans love it too. Every time I ride it, we learn more about it.

There’s so much that we can do with it, but the one thing we needed for it, we didn’t get; time. Having said that, 5th and 7th on it at our first time here with it is fantastic.

I’m over the moon with the results, and I’ve got to make a special mention to the guys doing my pit stop. They were by far the fastest in the whole pit lane. I reckon they saved me around 10-12 seconds over both pitstops against the guys at the front.”

Seven times TT winner Rutter, went onto add:

“Now we’ll take the RCV back to the workshop, give it a clean, and decide what to do with it next, but the priority now is getting back at the sharp end of the British Superstock Championship on our BMW’s.”
