Six times international road race winner William Dunlop is set to pilot again next season, the IC Racing/Caffrey International YZF R6 Yamaha which he has enjoyed sustained success with in recent years.
Consolidating his presence this year amongst the highest echelon of 600 roads exponents, 2017 has yielded Supersport rostrum finishes at Tandragee, Cookstown, Walderstown and the North West 200.
Additionally a very creditable fourth within the opening Monster Energy Supersport encounter at TT 2017, he’s established himself over the last ten years as been one of the all time greats within the ultra competitive class.
Long touted as a future TT winner, thousands upon thousands would love to see the hugely popular racer claim a maiden Mountain Course glory next year. For many his best chance of a first TT success arises in the four lap Supersport races.
Set to have stability on his side in 2018 with his trusty IC Racing/Caffrey International backed R6, it wouldn’t at all be a surprise to see his name join the who’s who of road racing to have conquered the world famous 37 and three quarter miles course.
Looking towards 2018 Superstock and Superbike competition, at present William is still looking at what the best options are machinery wise for next season as he aims for a more productive year within the marque classes.
