After intensive voting, it’s now official as to who you the public have decided is the top, leading Sidecars roads team of 2022.
Before we reveal more about this topic, here’s a run down of the 10th-2nd most voted teams.
10th – Robert Dawson/Sebastien Bar – Chimay Classics front runners
9th – Steve Ramsden/Matty Ramsden – Top three finishers x4 at the Scarborough Gold Cup
8th – Harry Payne/Mark Wilkes – Impressive partnership during this year’s TT Races
7th – Lee Crawford/Scott Hardie – Team A.R.C’s talented combination
6th – Ben Birchall/Tom Birchall – Current Sidecar TT ‘King Pins’
5th – Alun Thomas/Kenny Cole – Versatile, hugely experienced racing duo
4th – Ryan Crowe/Callum Crowe – First time TT podium finishers
3rd – Gary Bryan/Phil Hyde – Ever consistent Mountain Course exponents
2nd – Pete Founds/Jevan Walmsley – Southern 100 Champions, TT front runners
You know what’s next, drum roll, taking the spot honours after receiving 40 percent of the public vote are Danny Quirk/Dylan Weston.
True connoisseurs of yesteryear three wheeling machinery, there stars shone brightly and some during the returning Pre-TT Classic Road Races.
1272 Bellas Vincent mounted; Halifax’s Quirk was making his driving debut around the illustrious Billown course.
Despite this factor, it didn’t take long for Quirk/passenger Weston to be right at the sharp end, mixing it with established, proven event exponents.
Runners-up within the opening Sidecars encounter, the second three wheeling race stint saw them embroiled in a gripping, compelling battle for honours alongside Tony Thirkell/Trevor Johnson and David Lissaman/Rob Child.
At the race’s conclusion, Quirk/Weston just held on for a famous race win, finishing under 0.3 of a second ahead of Thirkell/Johnson.
Additionally ultra-competitive across the CRMC Cadwell Park meeting, Quirk/Weston epitomise the distinct spirit that makes Sidecars competition so unique.
