TT Races, Ulster Grand Prix lap record holder Peter Hickman has confirmed that he’s planning to tackle International roads events in 2021.
Hickman who’s claimed in an already incredible pure road racing career, 23 International road race victories, has endured a pretty challenging 2020 BSB campaign with Global Robots supported Smiths Racing.
Going into next week’s final series round at Brands Hatch, Hickman presently stands 14th within the Championship standings, having acquired to date a haul of 52 points.
Aside from BSB action, the world’s fastest road racer has also in 2020 sampled World Endurance Championship events plus took part in the inaugural Virtual TT.
Looking for a rapid up turn in fortunes in 2021, Covid-19 situation pending, Hickman is certain to once again be in prime contention for more TT, North West 200, Macau GP successes.
Speaking via his official website about the challenges of 2020, his 2021 plans, the first racer to lap the fabled, mythical Mountain Course at in excess of the 135 mph lap mark, stated:
“2020 definitely hasn’t gone the way we had hoped! It has been a really tough year for us but we’ve had three incredible seasons recently where we’ve been very lucky so I guess we were due some bad luck, so you’ve got to take the rough with the smooth and 2020 was probably the best time to have it!
It’s a shame we haven’t been able to showcase our full potential this year but we’re all heading to Brands ready to end the season on a bit of a high.
Having a contract in place for next season already is brilliant and means I can head into the off-season focusing solely on next year!”
