TT 2022: Dunlop To The Fore In Early Evening 600/Twins Action

As anticipated by various racing insiders, today’s timed practice for solo competitors took place this evening, after late morning, early afternoon rain curtailed the planned afternoon session.

Despite their being damp patches in specific locations such as Stella Maris, Ramsey, conditions overall were above average for the culmination of TT 2022 practice week.

In a switch up to the original proposed schedule, Supersport, Super Twin runners were first on track.
First away down Bray Will was none other than 19 times TT winner Michael Dunlop.

SC Project Paton mounted Dunlop went onto register a standing start lap speed of 120.303, to top the Super Twin standings.

Fastest Supersport exponent was Dean Harrison (123.044) closely followed by Ian Hutchinson (122.717) and Peter Hickman (121.981).

World’s fastest road racer Hickman, piloting the K2 Trooper Beer 765cc Triumph, then went fastest lapping at 124.835 mph, his quickest Supersport lap speed of practice week.

Twins pace setter Dunlop then took Supersport P1, lapping at almost sub 18 minutes, 18 minutes 06.280 seconds, which equates in speed terms to 125.04 mph.

Completing the early evening Supersport top 6 were Conor Cummins (123.524), DAO Racing’s Harrison, Boyce Precision Engineering/Russell Racing supported Hutchinson and BE Racing/RK Racing’s Michael Browne (121.889) who continues his productive return to real roads action.

Super Twins wise, as aforementioned it was Ballymoney roads legend Dunlop finishing quickest, leading top chaser PreZ Racing’s Paul Jordan (116.37) by 38.153 seconds.

Chipping away with his Aprilia machine, Lee Johnston (116.06) finished third fastest whilst others catching the eye included Rob Hodson (115.856), Birthday boy Michael Evans (114.65) and impressive TT newcomer Joe Loughlin (113.136).
