TT 2020: Todd/Tipper Crowned Inaugural Virtual TT Champions

TT 2020: Todd/Tipper Crowned Inaugural Virtual TT Champions

Following tonight’s TT Lock-In based competition, Davey Todd/Sam Tipper are officially the first Virtual TT Powered by Motul Champions.

Prior to confirmation of Todd/Tipper taking the overall prize, the final two teams in the inaugural Virtual TT took centre stage.

First up was team Miller’s Sara Leghari, who elected to pilot the Hawk Racing BMW that Michael Dunlop took to Superbike/Senior TT titles in 2016.

Stoke based gamer Leghari despite a few incidents including one at the Bungalow, went onto set a creditable lap time of 18 minutes 23 seconds.

Team mate, Mark ‘Thriller’ Miller showed his proven Mountain Course pedigree with an ultra consistent performance.

The 2010 TT Zero winner’s lap time of 16 minutes 45 seconds set aboard the Splitlath Motorsports Buell, was enough to propel team Miller to fourth on the overall team leader board.

Final Virtual TT participants included the history making, record breaking, world’s fastest road racer that is Smiths Racing’s Peter Hickman.

Much like in real life trying ultra hard for that perfect lap, five times TT winner Hickman ultimately had to be satisfied with a 17 minutes 06 seconds lap, equating in speed terms to past the 132 mph lap mark.

For Hickman’s team mate Alex Petrov from Russia, it was a case of steady away as he gradually sector by sector improved his confidence around the mythical, fabled TT course.

Come the completion of his one timed lap, he registered a lap time of 22 minutes 24 seconds, which when added to Hickman’s lap time (17.06), gave team Hickman a combined standing start lap of 39 minutes 30 seconds.

The final overall Virtual TT standings, read as follows:
