TT 2015 Preview – Part 6 – Lightweight Race

This year’s lightweight TT sees one of the most open races at TT 2015.

KMR Kawasaki has an ultra strong line up which includes team manager Ryan Farquhar.

Ryan is greatly looking forward to competing on his own teams ER6 Kawasaki as he bids to add to his current tally of three TT victories.

Recently at the Vauxhall International North West 200 the seven times Duke road race rankings champion produced two performances of the highest quality in super twin races winning opening race and finishing second in race two.

Already a winner in super twin’s class at TT Races Ryan is regarded by many as one of the strong favourites for lightweight TT race victory.

Lee Johnston enjoyed great success during the 2014 road racing season when competing on East Coast Racing’s ER6 Kawasaki, general Lee secured race wins at North West 200 and Dundrod 150.

The three times international road race winner is all set to compete for KMR Kawasaki in this years lightweight TT as he bids for his maiden success on the mountain course.

General Lee is considered by many the pre race favourite but the competition is incredibly strong.

Connor Behan 2014 Irish road race super twins champion has the ability to secure a podium finish.

KMR Kawasaki’s Connor has a proven top class record in super twins class, it would not at all be a surprise if he stepped onto the lightweight TT podium.

TT 2014 marked Danny Webb’s pure road racing debut. Tipped to become a TT winner in the future Danny is all set to compete for the second time at TT Races with KMR Kawasaki.

Ivan Lintin has in recent years established himself as amongst the very best super twins competitors in real road racing.

Reigning TT privateers championship winner Ivan is piloting in this years lightweight TT RC Express Racing’s lightweight TT winning ER6 Kawasaki.

RC Express Racing and Ivan are confident of been in contention for race victory as is James Hillier.

2013 lightweight TT race winner James has fantastic record in the lightweight TT since it returned in 2012.

Alongside race victory in 2013 he finished second in 2012 and second in 2014, on all three occasions James produced performances of the very highest quality.

The Quattro Plant Kawasaki rider knows he has the machinery, knowledge, pace, talent and determination to be victorious, the same applies to Michael Dunlop.

Michael isn’t regarded by many to be a leading super twins rider but at the Cookstown 100 he proved his quality in the highly competitive class by achieving super twins race win.

As at Cookstown the 11 times TT winner is set to compete on Mcadoo Racing’s ER6 Kawasaki.

Eighth place finisher in last years lightweight TT Dan Cooper pilots CMS Racing’s ER6 Kawasaki whilst Adrian Harrison is one to watch on Printing Roller Services Racing ER6 Kawasaki.

Tuukka Korhonen embarks on his first fifth year of action on the mountain course at TT 2015.

The 16th place finisher in 2014 lightweight TT is all set to race for Niklas Pfeiffer’s NK Motors Racing team.

Reigning Czech road racing super twins champion Michal Dokoupil enjoyed his best two weeks racing to date at the most famous road race in the world at TT 2014.

Main highlight for Indi was finishing a fine 10th in lightweight race, like many of the leading newcomers he is ER6 Kawasaki mounted competing for the Motopoint Racing team.

Having finished an excellent third in second super twins race during the Spring Cup National Road Races at Oliver’s Mount Dan Hegarty proved that he could be a force to be reckoned with in the lightweight TT.

Dan is set to compete for Brian Scott Racing on a top spec ER6 Kawasaki as Hego targets a first class result.

Michael Sweeney two winner of the junior Manx Grand Prix is another rider very capable of securing podium finish as is Burrows Engineering Racing’s Jamie Hamilton.

Recent third place finisher in both super twin races at the 2015 Vauxhall International North West 200 is brimming with confidence going into this years Isle of Man TT.

He has the potential to be victorious on Burrows Engineering Racing ER6 Kawasaki, the same applies to the reigning Duke road race rankings champion James Cowton.

Stewart Smith Racing ER6 Kawasaki is set to provide the third place finisher in 2014 lightweight TT with an excellent opportunity to push for a result of the same magnitude or better.

David Johnson, Colin Stephenson, Alan Bonner, Timothee Monot, Rab Davie, Graham English, Michael Russell all add further quality to the entry list as do Shirlaws Motorcycles Racing’s exciting line up.

Craig Shirlaw’s team are all set to run 2014 junior Manx Grand Prix winner Andy Lawson alongside Hudson Kennaugh who returns to the TT for the first time in four years.

Both riders have the credentials to secure standout results as they compete on Shirlaws Motorcycles Racing’s ER6 Kawasaki which carry distinctive turquoise blue, white and red colour scheme.

Martin Jessopp and the VRS Racing ER6 Kawasaki are fully capable of sealing a spot on the podium whilst amongst the leading non ER6 Kawasaki mounted riders include four times TT winner Michael Rutter.

Ian Lougher Racing are running Michael on a factory backed Paton as team and rider target a podium finish.

Olie Linsdell showcased in the 2014 lightweight TT the potential of the Paton by finishing in sixth place, with Michael Rutter now spearheading Paton’s entry an exciting result could be on the cards for the iconic Italian motorcycle manufacturer.

Fifth place finisher in second super twins race at North West 200 Jamie Coward goes into TT 2015 full of confidence in the potential of Trevor Scott Racing’s 550 Aprilia.

Third place finisher in 2013 500 classic TT Jamie is joined in the Trevor Scott Racing team by the rapidly improving Shaun Anderson.

Gary Johnson for the second year running leads the factory CF Moto effort.

Undoubtedly Gary has the ability to secure a top finish for CF Moto, he holds start number 1 for the 2015 lightweight TT.

British motorcycling academy and Norton have teamed up to run Adam Child on an ER6 Kawasaki powered twin.

Set to compete for the fourth time at TT Races Adam is excited about competing on the immaculately turned out machine.

TT legend Dave Madsen Mygdal pilots Martin Bullock Manxsport ER6 Kawasaki whilst Ben Rea is tipped by many to cause many a surprise or two on CMS Racing’s ER6 Kawasaki.

Ben has already proven his speed on the historical road race circuit during the Manx Grand Prix winning 2013 newcomers c race and finishing an excellent fifth in 2014 super twins race.

Roy Richardson, Bjorn Gunnarsson, Jack Hunter, John Barton, Anthony Redmond, Dave Moffitt, Chris Mcgahan show the depth of a fantastic entry list.

Newcomers entered include Derek Mcgee competing on Emerald racing magazine backed ER6 Kawasaki and Dan Harrison from Driffield making his pure road racing debut on JHS Racing’s Suzuki.

Geoffrey Vankoekelbergh joins Tuukka Korhonen in NK Motors Racing team as the winner of both super twin races at Chimay Road Races last year looks forward to participating for the first at the Isle of Man TT.
