14 times TT winner Ian Hutchinson, became a world record holder back in August at the MCE Insurance Ulster Grand Prix.
The second Superbike race, would see Hutchy victorious in a gripping race with he, Bruce Anstey and Michael Dunlop involved in a classic battle out front.
Final lap of the race saw the Tyco BMW rider, lap at a quite astonishing 134.089 mph, to not only set a new lap record around Dundrod, but also become officially the world’s fastest road racer.
For multiple years many have predicted the 134 mph mark, would eventually be surpassed at the Ulster GP.
Hutchy’s momentous feat, is in my opinion his biggest achievement of his 2016 international roads campaign.
It’s been another prodigious year on the roads, for the rider, dubbed the miracle man.
Eight international road race victories, plus in total 13 podium finishes, make him statistically the most successful rider this year, at the international meetings.

Amongst his favourite events, he is looking forward to returning to the Ulster Grand Prix in 2017, as he bids for a clean sweep of victories, having this year wrapped four wins.
Remaining with Tyco BMW and Team Traction Control, which will now run under the new team name of McAMS Yamaha, all the components are there for another first class Ulster GP.
