One of Irish Road Racing’s great characters, his answers to the popular series of questions are as follows:

Q1: Favourite National Roads Meeting?

“Tandragee by far! Have good memories here as I broke the long standing Senior Support lap record as a newcomer. Has everything, jumps flat out corners, bomb holes and fast straights!”

Q2: Favourite Racing Bike?

“My ex motorcycle city steel frame bike! She is a pure weapon and is still competitive today I reckon. Might bring it out next year for the crack but I’m afraid I’d wreck it!”

Q3: What’s the best part of competing on the roads?

“The speed of some the races. Flat out with the knee on the deck and not hitting a round bale at 60 mph!”

Q4: TT, North West 200 or Ulster Grand Prix?

“Only done the Ulster GP but loved that track. Again so fast, big balls corners but only thing Noel needs to do is stick a few jumps and woops into it, then she be a real proper road race!”

Q5: Most Respected Rival?

“Well I’m going to say Cody Nally, a good friend and an Irish champion something I want to achieve someday, but he’s a b*****x for stopping racing when I joined his class! His help this year has been a big plus for me with all his experience in BSB on stockers etc.”

Q6: Best roads moment thus far?

“Well one my best moments came on the Pre 97 in Kirkistown. Struggled their all year in 2012 then finally found the problem went got pole, 2 wins and broke lap record!

Something I really want to try repeat in Superbike class. I reckon with a Superbike spec machine, the right weather I can take at least a second of the new lap record!”

Q7: Is their one place or country in the world, where you would like to see a roads meeting held?

“I’d love to see one in Spain. So many Moto gp riders etc and a Moto 2 championship, it be interesting to see how they bring that style and speed to the roads and who would win. Rossi or Hickman.”

Q8: Who’s your road racing hero?

“Well it would have to be John Mahon, he raced the roads around Moyvore against all sorts, yolks, starlets, levins you name it.

He broke his back road racing went to the pub that night got drunk, even got in a fight and got a phone call 2 weeks later from the doctor, to say his back is broke don’t move an ambulance is on its way! That’s a hero to me!”

Q9: Supersport or Superbike?

“Oh Superbike for sure. Unless you have the national lottery behind you in Supersport you’ll struggle to get far ha!”

Q10: Pole position or fastest lap?

“Both”
