A newcomer in July to the Southern 100, going onto record a very respectable 19th place finish within the 600/1000 B race, Castletown based Paul Cassidy is the next racer to take part in Road Racing News worldwide popular, ten questions challenge.

Hoping to compete for the first time next year in the Manx Grand Prix, his answers to the popular series of questions are as follows:

Q1: Favourite National Roads Meeting?

“Has to be the Isle of Man TT.”

Q2: Favourite Racing Bike?

“The new 2018 Yamaha YZF R6 that I’ve just purchased for my road race campaign, for the up, coming years.”

Q3: What’s the best part of competing on the roads?

“It has to be the feeling of just being you and the bike against the world, no one telling you what you can and can’t do with all the health and safety we have now.”

Q4: TT, North West 200 or Ulster Grand Prix?

“Isle of Man TT”

Q5: Most Respected Rival?

“Up and coming local lad Frankie Stennett.”

Q6: Best roads moment thus far?

“Competing at the Southern 100 as a newcomer, and doing that first lap without a marshal.”

Q7: Is their one place or country in the world, where you would like to see a roads meeting held?

“I would like to see the Jurby South Road Races come back. After talking to some of the riders that have competed at this event, I feel it is one event that is truly missed from the road race calendar.”

Q8: Who’s your road racing hero?

“Guy Martin, his great attitude, he’s just a true maverick.”

Q9: Supersport or Superbike?

“Definitely a Superbike the power different from a 600 is just unreal, massive grin factor.”

Q10: Pole position or fastest lap?

“Fastest lap”
