McAdoo Kawasaki’s Adam McLean doubled his 2021 KDM Hire Cookstown 100 wins tally, after storming to Mid Ulster District Council Supersport A race victory.
The re-started race which didn’t feature Michael Sweeney, following his previously mentioned incident at Braeside, saw the aforementioned McLean take Supersport pace to a new level around the Orritor Circuit.
Steadily pulling away from Open A race winner Michael Browne, lap four would see McLean surpass Michael Dunlop’s long standing middleweight class lap record, lapping at 1 minute 24.689 seconds.
McLean went onto better this lap time on lap five, lapping at 1 minute 24.442 seconds.
Such was his hurricane, tornado like injection of speed, that by lap seven gritty main pursuer Browne, had dropped over four seconds behind.
By the end of the ninth, final race lap, McLean’s race winning advantage was nine seconds plus.
Third behind BE Racing’s Browne, Paul Jordan gave PreZ Racing their first road race podium finish in two years.
Twice Manx GP winner Darryl Tweed took fourth as Graham Kennedy, James Chawke claimed more than respectable fifth, sixth place finishes.
The remainder of the top 10 was finalised by Stephen Tobin, Richard Charlton, Dermot Cleary and Dean Campbell.
