Top quality 125, Moto 3, 250 and 400 action is in prospect at the Spring Cup National Road Races.
Ultra Lightweight 125/Moto 3 Races
The ten strong entry list for the ultra lightweight races, sees an entry list consisting of many a traditional 125, plus a couple of Moto 3 spec machines.
Leading entrants include the most successful rider in history around Oliver’s Mount, Ian Lougher. Set to pilot a NSF M2 250 Honda, Ian’s current tally of victories around the mount, stands at a staggering 132.
He will start one of the favourites for series of ultra lightweight race wins, same applies to runner up in the 2011 super twins Manx Grand Prix, Phil Harvey.
Joining Phil in competing on RS 125 Honda machinery include Justin Waring, Tony Flinton, Ian Stanford and Adam Child.
Additional ones to watch include Joe Thompson and Chris Barratt, who is TZ 125 Yamaha mounted.
Lightweight Races
A mix of two stroke and 400 machinery, makes the lightweight races, amongst the most intriguing at the Spring Cup National Road Races.
One of the anticipated front runners is reigning Phil Mellor trophy winner Alistair Haworth.
In recent years Alistair has been the rider to beat on the 400’s around the mount, it’s set to be no different, next weekend.
400 lap record holder Dan Frear makes a popular return to Oliver’s Mount, high quality tussles are in prospect with Alistair Haworth, as he pilots a ZXR 400 Kawasaki.
In total 14 400’s are entered, further potential top three finishers competing on 400 machinery include rising star Nick Anderson, Peter Boast, Paul Gartland, Dan Ingham and Rad Hughes.
Leading the two stroke challenge are Phil Harvey, 2004 senior Manx Grand Prix winner Davy Morgan and Paul Owen on his Team 98 RS 250 Honda.
Plus the Moto 3 class is represented by Oliver’s Mount legend Ian Lougher, and up and coming star at Scarborough, Joe Thompson.

Over the years around Oliver’s Mount we have seen many an iconic race with the two strokes and 400’s.
With a wide ranging entry list consisting of international road race winners, rising stars and up and coming pure road racers, the mount is set to play host once again to some closely fought enthralling ultra lightweight and lightweight races.
