Corlett’s Trophies 600/1000 B race winner at the Southern 100 Richard Charlton is planning to compete in the 1000cc races at TT 2018, having recently acquired an S1000RR BMW for next season.
A seasoned Mountain Course competitor, his Manx GP career which first began in 2011 has yielded an array of notable results.
Which includes sixth and seventh place finishes in the 2016 Junior and Super Twin races, whilst this years Junior race saw him lap from a standing start an in excess of 118 mph on his way to a solid 20th place finish.
Having competed at the Manx for seven years, Richard now feels the time is right to step up to the TT Races.
Set to pilot S1000RR BMW machinery, he has the core Mountain Course knowledge allied to considerable determination to contend for highly notable results within the Superbike, Superstock and Senior races, subject to his entry being successful.
Alongside TT 2018, another big aim for Richard next year is to sample for the first time the world’s fastest road race the Ulster Grand Prix.
He’s also planning to return to the Southern 100 next July, as he aims to gather another string of excellent results on the famous Billown course.
