Alongside John Holden, second in both Sure Sidecar races of TT 2017, leading Manx Mountain Course racer Lee Cain is the next competitor to take part in Road Racing News, Sidecar equivalent of the popular ten questions challenge.
The reigning Southern 100 Sidecar champion’s answers to the series of questions, are as follows:
Q1: Favourite Roads Meet?
“Has to be the TT, but looking forward to doing the world F1 championship this year and taking on the challenge of the new tracks.”
Q2: Favourite Racing Engine?
“John Holden’s TT Honda engines, there incredible and so fast!”
Q3: Best roads moment thus far?
“Getting two 2nd place finishes at last years TT. But having my name on the Southern 100 championship trophy is also pretty cool.”
Q4: Out of the current roads meets, is their one event in particular where you would like to see Sidecars compete?
“I would love to see the Jurby road race make a return, it was so bumpy and had some good jumps through the pillbox section.”
Q5: Most respected fellow passenger?
“Mark Cox was someone I looked up to when I first went to the TT, but Dan Sayle’s record speaks for itself, both great three wheeling passengers.”
Q6: Three Wheeling Hero?
“I don’t have a hero as such, but growing up on the island I always looked up to Dave Molyneux and Nick Crowe.”
Q7: What’s the best part about competing on the roads?
“Has to be the fact I can do 140 mph on roads, I drive daily at a boring 30 mph.”
Q8: Three words to describe sidecar racing?
“Preparation, trust, teamwork.”
Q9: In your opinion, who is the greatest Sidecar TT racer of all time?
“Dave Molyneux, his record at the TT speaks for itself.”
Q10: Pole position or fastest lap?
“Both including race victory, would be nice. But if I had to pick one, I’d go for fastest lap.”
