By Lead three wheeling newcomer of TT 2003 alongside Joe Shardlow, a top 12 finisher in the following years TT meeting, experienced driver Nev Jones is the next competitor to take part in Road Racing News, Sidecar equivalent of the popular ten questions challenge.
In addition to his Mountain Course exploits, an NG Road Racing Club champion in 2015 and 2016, his answers to the series of questions are as follows:
Q1: Favourite Roads Meet?
“Isle of Man TT”
Q2: Favourite Racing Engine?
“TZ 350 Yamaha. The corner speed you could carry compared to the four strokes was fantastic.”
Q3: Best roads moment thus far?
“Gaining the TT Best & Fastest Newcomers title in 2003. You only get one chance, and our names are always going to be on the same trophies as some of the very best Sidecar racers that the world has ever seen.”
Q4: Out of the current roads meets, is their one event in particular where you would like to see sidecars compete?
“North West 200”
Q5: Most respected fellow driver?
“If I’m allowed to choose a driver from the past, Phil Dongworth, supremely gifted, down to earth, and always willing to put himself out to help others.”
Q6: Three Wheeling Hero?
“George O’Dell. Gave everything, and more, to pursue his dream.”
Q7: What’s the best part about competing on the roads?
“The camaraderie of the Sidecar class to get everyone to the start line.”
Q8: Three words to describe sidecar racing?
“Too bloody addictive.”
Q9: In your opinion, who is the greatest Sidecar TT racer of all time?
“Hard to pick anyone over Dave Molyneux for the sheer number of years he’s been at the top, and the number of wins he’s achieved. Rob Fisher and Dave Saville must come close though.”
