Rising Stars Announce TT 2016 Start Numbers

Many a rising star on the roads, have announced their start numbers for TT 2016.

Reigning senior Manx Grand Prix winner Malachi Mitchell Thomas, set to make his TT bow with Cookstown Burrows Engineering Racing, holds start number 28 for the superbike, superstock and senior races.

Whilst the Monster Energy supersport encounters, sees Malachi hold the number 23 plate.

2015 junior Manx Grand Prix winner Billy Redmayne, carries start number 35 for the superbike, superstock and senior races, Monster Energy supersport races sees Billy hold number 28 on the Valmoto MV Agusta.

Current super twins Manx Grand Prix winner Rob Hodson also makes the step up to TT Races with PRF Racing.

He holds number 51 for the 1000cc races, number 49 for on the GSX-R 600 Suzuki that propelled him to second place finish in last years senior Manx GP, plus he’s one to watch in the lightweight race, holding start number 21.

Further front runners from the Manx Grand Prix to watch out for include, David Sellers who carries number’s 52 and 44 for the superbike, supersport, superstock and senior races.

Joe Newbould number 50 (supersport) fourth place finisher in the 2015 senior Manx Grand Prix, is another rider more than capable of securing top quality results.

Same applies to Julien Toniutti 80 (superbike, superstock, senior)/81 (supersport), Morgan Govignon 90 (supersport) and Craig Neve at number 85 across all classes.

Sam West who made an impressive first appearance at TT Races in 2015, has start number 24 for the superbike, superstock and senior races, as he competes for Paul Shoesmith’s acclaimed Ice Valley Racing outfit.


One of the most improved competitors around the Mountain Course in recent years Dan Hegarty is one place behind Sam for the 1000 races at number 25.

He holds the number 22 plate for the supersport races, where he’s set to pilot MM Racing YZF R6 Yamaha.

Additional numbers to look out for in the supersport class include, Michal Dokoupil 29, Rob Barber 33, 40 Bjorn Gunnarsson, 72 Timothee Monot and 79 Ben Rea.

Lightweight numbers well worth noting include JHS Racing’s Michael Russell at 11, Xavier Denis at 30, Chris Dixon at 34, Anthony Redmond at 49, Jack Hunter at 55 and Dan Harrison at 56.

Newcomers start numbers announced include Seamus Elliott at 89 (superbike, superstock, senior), Josh Daley 94 (supersport), Olaf Romijn 95 (supersport), Alastair Fagan 64 (lightweight).
