A closely fought superbike race at the Vauxhall International North West 200 would provide Alastair Seeley with his 15th North West 200 victory.
This now means that Alastair is now the joint most successful rider in the history of the iconic road race.
The Tyco BMW rider edged out the likes of Ian Hutchinson and nine times TT winner Bruce Anstey in achieving this quite remarkable achievement.

Ian Hutchinson’s second place finish was without a doubt one of the standout moments from this year’s North West 200.
The Paul Bird Motorsport backed ZX10R Kawasaki superbike never missed a beat as Hutchy recorded his first podium finish around the triangle since the second supersport race in 2010.
Bruce Anstey was in scintillating form on Valvoline Racing by Padgetts Motorcycles CBR 1000 Honda Fireblade in finishing in third place.
Bruce proved once again today why he is considered one of the most naturally talented pure road racers of the last twenty years.
Lee Johnston finished an excellent fourth following a great display on East Coast Racing S1000RR BMW.
Michael Rutter provided Penz 13.com Bathams by BMW Motorrad with a fabulous top five finish.
The eight times Macau Grand Prix winner has lost none of his talent and this result proves that more North West 200 wins are possible in the future.
John McGuinness was a highly creditable sixth as the 21 times winner proved that he’s back to his best in big bike class on Honda Racing superbike.
Tyco BMW’s William Dunlop and Guy Martin finished in seventh and eighth as both produced high quality performances.
David Johnson competing on Ice Valley racing backed S1000RR BMW recorded brilliant ninth place finish.
Davo has proved today at the North West that he’s without a doubt got the talent to be a future race winner at the iconic road race.
Finalising the top ten was Rig Deluge BMW’s Keith Amor.
With 15 North West 200 race victories Alastair Seeley has well and truly established his place as one of the all time great competitors around the triangle.
