RAF’s Hughes Set For TT Step Up

The RAF’s Rad Hughes is the latest seasoned Manx GP competitor, to unveil plans to step up this year to the TT Races.

A Mountain Course debutant in 2012, Rad’s Manx GP CV includes finishing a fine fifth within the 2012 Newcomers B race, plus a battling top ten finish in the Super Twins encounter of 2014.

His first TT Races stint, is set to see him pilot his own teams RAF backed ER6 Kawasaki, in the four lap Bennetts Lightweight race.

Holder of the 54 plate for TT 2018, the Oliver’s Mount specialist is hugely looking forward to competing within the same race, alongside the likes of Michael Dunlop, John McGuinness, Peter Hickman, twice class champion Ivan Lintin, Martin Jessopp and good friend, James Cowton.

Prior to TT 2018, he’s set to begin his closed roads season at Scarborough, at the newly titled Spada Spring Cup, before making his Irish roads debut at the Around A Pound Tandragee 100.

Additionally planning to compete at the Post TT and Classic TT Races aboard a KR-1 Kawasaki, the Sheffield based racer is another under the radar hero of roads paddocks.

It’s great to see grass roots competitors like him, given the chance to compete at the TT Races, which as for all real road racers, is a groundbreaking achievement.
