Kent’s Steve Mercer, will make a return to roads competition at TT 2018, but not with as many anticipated Honda Racing, having secured a late deal with Jackson Racing, to pilot SP2 Fireblade Honda machinery, in the RST Superbike, Royal London 360 Quantum Superstock and Pokerstars Senior races.
Since making his Mountain Course debut in 2009, the well respected racer has gone onto enjoy an accomplished TT tenure, lapping near the 130 mph mark, plus recording in total thus far three top ten finishes.
Previously part of the Jackson Racing set up at the TT’s of 2011, 2012 and 2016, the Preston based outfit, has over the years enjoyed many a tumultuous moment, with the former Oliver’s Mount Spring Cup champion.
Speaking via Twitter about re joining the team, which is also running at TT 2018, Immingham’s Craig Neve, seasoned TT exponent Mercer, stated:
“I just can’t go without it. Thank you Jackson Racing, Honda Racing CBR and everyone else who’s made it possible. #TT18 #SP2”
