Stuart Easton secured pole position at the 2014 Macau Grand Prix as the former three times Macau GP winner was in dazzling form on Paul Bird motorsport ZX10 Kawasaki.
Stuart produced lap speed of 2 minutes 25.975 seconds as he finished clear by over half a second over second quickest Michael Rutter on Milwaukee Yamaha superbike who lapped at 2 minutes 26.478 seconds.

Lee Johnston produced a superb performance to finish third fastest lapping at 2 minutes 27.096 seconds on East Coast racing CBR 1000 Honda Fireblade, the talented rider is carrying on his excellent form from this season at Macau and the potential is there for podium finish on Saturday.
Reigning Macau GP champion Ian Hutchinson will start tomorrows race from fourth on the grid. The eight times Isle of Man TT winner cannot be discounted from battling for victory though, Jimmy Storrar secured fifth position on the grid after second qualifying as he showed great form on DMR racing S1000RR BMW.
Horst Saiger completed the top six as the popular rider continues to prove why he is considered by many to be a specialist around Macau. Gary Johnson finished seventh quickest after both qualifying sessions whilst Martin Jessopp finished eighth fastest as he showed consistent pace on Riders motorcycles S1000RR BMW.

Steve Mercer competing on the same Penz 13.com BMW bike that propelled Michael Dunlop to Frohburg road races open race 2 victory was an excellent ninth after second qualifying as TT legend John McGuinness rounded out the top ten.
Reigning international road racing championship winner Didier Grams qualified a hugely creditable 11th as Michael Sweeney adapting well on his first time competing at Macau finished 27th fastest. The stage is set for an exciting race tomorrow as all riders battle for race victory in the 47th Macau motorcycle Grand Prix.
