Isle of Man TT 2014 – Opening Practice Supersport News

Gary Johnson competing on Smiths Triumph supersport bike topped opening supersport practice session at this years Isle of Man TT. Gary lapped at 122.619 to finish comfortably in front of second quickest in practice John Mcguinness who lapped at 118.672 mph on Valvolvine racing Padgetts motorcycles CBR 600 Honda.

Lee Johnston was third quickest for East Coast racing lapping at a good 118.183 mph, Dan Kneen was fourth quickest also lapping at over 118 mph. Dean Harrison on Mar Train racing R6 Yamaha was also over the 118 mph lap.

Russ Mountford rounded out the top six on Silicone engineering racing 675 Daytona Triumph with lap speed of 118.082 mph. Ivan Lintin finished seventh fastest, Taylor Lindsey racing rider Ivan lapped at an impressive 117.968 mph.

James Cowton proved once again that he is one of the biggest rising talents in road racing by lapping at 117.610 mph on his own teams CBR 600 Honda.

Ian Pattinson competing on Weardale racing R6 Yamaha and Ollie Linsdell also Yamaha mounted completed the top ten. Triumph haven’t won at the Isle of Man TT since 2003, theres every chance 2014 could be the year where Triumph record their first TT victory in eleven years, Gary Johnson already quickest in opening supersport practice will start both supersport TT races as one of the pre race favourites.
