The 2010 superbike TT race began in perfect conditions all round, Bruce Anstey was first away on the Relentless Suzuki by TAS superbike. At Glen Helen on lap 1 it was John Mcguinness who lead on the HM Plant Honda superbike but by only 0.8 of a second over Conor Cummins in second place.
At Ballaugh bridge though Conor Cummins hit the front to lead by three seconds over John Mcguinness however John was experiencing mechanical problems and was soon out of the race. This meant Ian Hutchinson was into second place, Guy Martin held third place on the Wilson Craig racing CBR 1000 Honda Fireblade superbike.
By the end of lap 1 Conor Cummins held over eight seconds advantage over Ian Hutchinson in second place, Guy Martin continued to hold third place. Lap 2 saw Cummins extend his advantage over Hutchinson, the lead was now over 10 seconds, Conor Cummins lapped on lap 1 at 131.518 mph, making him the second fastest rider currently at the Isle of Man TT.

Lap 3 and positions out front remained the same, however pit stops at the end of lap 4 would see drama a plenty. After a slow pit stop Conor Cummins lead over Ian Hutchinson was down to now only four seconds, Guy Martin had a pitlane penalty and this meant Michael Dunlop was now into third place.
So onto lap 5 and Conor Cummins had to rebuild the lead that he had established over the previous four laps. But then reliability issues hit the Mcadoo Kawasaki superbike and Cummins was out. This left Ian Hutchinson with a comfortable advantage over now newly into second place Michael Dunlop.
Cameron Donald now occupied third place in front of Guy Martin now fourth, Adrian Archibald held fifth place and Keith Amor completed the top six as the race entered the final lap.
Ian Hutchinson and the Padgetts racing CBR 1000 Honda Fireblade superbike crossed the line at the end of lap six to record superbike TT victory for 2010. Michael Dunlop produced a brilliant performance to finish in second place on the Robinson concrete backed CBR 1000 Honda Fireblade.
