Looking to build upon an already accomplished Mountain Course CV, Japan’s Masayuki Yamanaka has recently confirmed his intention to compete at TT 2019.
Runner up within the 2015 Newcomers C Manx Grand Prix, the experienced Tokyo based racer has established himself in recent years as unquestionably one of his nation’s foremost International road racers of the modern era.
Aiming for an upturn in fortunes in 2019, TT 2018 proved ultra challenging for the genial Yamanaka, who finished a respectable 56th within the opening Monster Energy Supersport race.
Now with four years of Mountain Course experience under his belt, he feels it’s the right time to take on a new challenge at TT 2019.
Although it’s still not 100 percent confirmed, it’s looking a strong possibility that he will join forces with none other than Team ILR (Ian Lougher Racing), for his third TT Races campaign.
It’s great to see Japan’s leading closed roads exponent getting his plans in place early ahead of TT 2019.
Racers like him epitomise the global appeal of the world’s most famous roads meeting, plus help increase the worldwide popularity of Mountain Course competition.
