Faugheen 50: Race Day Wrap

Increasing his growing rising star status within the pure road racing fraternity, alongside powering to Junior Support and Senior Support victories, Joe Loughlin also went onto win a thrilling Super Twins race in record breaking fashion.

Leading home Open/Grand Final pace setters, the two Derek’s Mcgee and Sheils, he once again showcased why many regard him as a future international road race winner.

The feature Supersport race saw a determined Paul Jordan, piloting the Evolution Camping backed YZF R6 Yamaha, seal a first 600 roads victory, having held off a firm challenge from Cookstown BE Racing’s Derek Sheils.

Michael Sweeney claimed the final spot on the podium, plus there was impressive rides as well from 5th and 6th placed Raymond Casey and Thomas Maxwell.

Paul Robinson sealed 125/Moto 3 honours, whilst the sole 250 mounted competitor within the 250/400 race, Logan Racing’s Neil Kernohan headed home a delighted 400 class winner Seamus Elliott as Callum Laidlaw completed the podium finishers.

Winners aboard classic machinery, where as follows; Ed Manly (350), Richard Ford (250/1000) and Barry Davidson (500).

Non Championship wins where clinched by Michael Browne (Junior Support), David Howard (Senior Support) and Ben Mullane (Super Twins).
