David Datzer Germany’s Newest IRRC Star

Having enjoyed in 2016, a successful maiden season of IRRC action, David Datzer established himself as one of Germany’s rising stars within the prestigious championship.

His first voyage into competition in Europe’s premier roads series, saw him finish ninth overall in the IRRC Superbike class, courtesy of series of top draw results.

In particular at his home round at Frohburg, at Oss in the Netherlands and the Czech round at Horice, he impressed many with his pace.

Already a huge fan of the iconic Imatra roads course in Finland, David loved competing last year, at the former Grand Prix venue.

Set to compete on his own teams Sportbike Custom Racing S1000RR BMW, his main aim for his second full scale IRRC campaign, is a top five finish in the final championship standings.

In my opinion, he is hugely capable of accomplishing this goal, at the same time, it will obviously not be an easy one to secure.

The standard of competition within in the International Road Racing Championship, is growing year on year.

Expect more of the same in 2017, as up and coming roads star David Datzer competes against many of continental Europe’s leading pure road racing exponents, which include fellow German and four times IRRC Superbike champion, Didier Grams.
