Having had a challenging at times opening day of competition at the Cock of The North Road Races, day two of action around Oliver’s Mount, proved a highly successful one for rising roads star Tom Weeden.
Piloting his own teams 675 Daytona Triumph, Tom sealed a fantastic third place finish in the second junior A supersport race, following a close fought battle with 2014 Duke Road Race Rankings champion James Cowton.
Feature race of the meeting the Cock O’The North saw the sixth place finisher in the 2015 senior Manx Grand Prix, finish a more than creditable seventh.
His weekends racing at Oliver’s Mount ended in productive style in the second super twins race.
Competing on Keith Pringle’s ER6 Kawasaki, Tom battled his way to fifth, during the eight lap 650 encounter.
Amongst the fastest rising stars at the mount, he is tipped by many to be a future Steve Henshaw international gold cup winner.
In 61 days time the 2016 Manx Grand Prix begins, it marks Tom’s fourth year of Mountain Course competition.
Having lapped in excess of 118 mph last year, one of his main aims for this year’s Manx, is to join the coveted 120 mph club.
A definite in my podium contender in the junior and senior races, don’t be surprised to see Tom Weeden move up a level and seal a race in or two.
